Licensing
There have been major changes to this area of law with the implementation of the Licensing Act 2003. The new law came into effect finally on 24th November 2005 with a barrage of publicity, as it heralded the start of 24 hour opening.
Most people involved in the sale or supply of alcohol will have some understanding of the new rules. However the procedure to be followed in obtaining a new style Personal Licence can be confusing as can the process of transfer of a Premises Licence. Since the Act also covers Regulated Entertainment (the provision of music, dancing, the showing of films and similar types of entertainment) many people will find that they need to apply for a licence where they did not previously need one.
If you need help with this confusing area of law please contact Simon Masters at Middlewich on 01606 835736 who has considerable experience.
